NACF Family Day Bunyip Vic – 19th November

We had a great family day last Sunday with fantastic weather.

Fr Arthur gave us a talk on the 3 theological virtues faith, hope and charity, and the 4 moral virtues prudence, temperance, fortitude and justice. He gave us much needed encouragement and support. Leaving us with the message of pray hope and don’t worry.

We had a total of 7 families with a good spread of ages from children to young adults who enjoyed a number of activities.

Family Day Castle Hill NSW – Sunday 5th November

Our Sydney Family Day on the 5th of November was a great day despite the wet weather!

Dominos Pizza delivery for lunch (no preparation!) and a healthy sprinkling of new families.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd was held in our Castle Hill atrium for 2-6-year-olds, a talk for the 7-11 year olds was given by Bernadette Meney (‘The Holy Souls’) and ‘Pro-life Apologetics/Activism’ was fed to the 12-18-year-olds by Mary Lennon & Isaac Spencer.

Dr Gerard O’Shea received enthusiastic accolades from many parents for his hour-long talk on “The Moral Formation of Your Child”.

Approximately 25 families attended. A terrific climax to Sydney NACF events for 2017.

National Catholic Families Conference attracts 400 to Albury – AD2000

by Kathleen Horsfall and Marie-Louise Fowler

The Lake Hume Weir Resort just outside Albury in NSW was bustling over the Australia Day weekend with over 400 people from at least 70 families, drawn from twelve dioceses, attending the inaugural national conference of the National Association of Catholic Families.

Sponsored by the Archdioceses of Melbourne and Sydney, the Diocese of Wagga Wagga, Catholic Super, Saint Mary MacKillop College, Albury, and St Patrick’s parish, Albury, the conference had talks, workshops and activities in streams for small children, teenagers and young adults, those discerning their vocation and parents.

Holy Mass and all night Adoration however formed the centrepiece of this wonderful faith-filled weekend.
